[Article] Model Predictive Control for Building Active Demand Response Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Active Demand Response (ADR), integrated with the distributed energy generation and storage systems, is the most common strategy for the optimization of energy consumption and indoor comfort in buildings, considering the energy availability and the balancing of the energy production from renewable sources. In the paper an overview of basic requirements and applications of ADR management is presented. Specifically, the model predictive control (MPC) adopted in several applications as optimal control strategy in the ADR buildings context is analysed. Finally the research experience of the authors in this context is described. © 2015 The Authors.Published by Elsevier Ltd. Peer-review under responsibility of KES International.

Model Predictive Control of a BCDFIG With Active and Reactive Power Control Capability for Grid-Connected Applications
Recently, Brushless Cascaded Doubly Fed Induction Generator (BCDFIG) has been considered as an attractive choice for grid-connected applications due to its high controllability and reliability. In this paper, a Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control (FCS-MPC) method with active and reactive power control capability in grid-connected mode is proposed for controlling the BCDFIG in a way that...

Wind energy today, has attracted widespread interest from among a variety of sources of renewable energy in the world. Owing to the increasing demand for production of electrical energy for electricity networks by using wind power, it is essential that wind power plants are actively incorporated in the network’s performance using an appropriate control system. In general, these wind power plant...

To control structures against wind and earthquake excitations, Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference Systems and Neural Networks are combined in this study. The control scheme consists of an ANFIS inverse model of the structure to assess the control force. Considering existing ANFIS controllers, which require a second controller to generate training data, the authors’ approach does not need anot...

Building performance simulation is being increasingly deployed beyond the building design phase to support efficient building operation. Specifically, the predictive feature of the simulation-assisted building systems control strategy provides distinct advantages in view of building systems with high latency and inertia. Such advantages can be exploited only if model predictions can be relied u...
